The title pays reference to the ethics of conservation and shows ex soldier Foster and his teenage daughter living in the wilds of Portland USA. Living off grid is tough and isolated but it is also beautiful, gentle and healing. They are largely self sufficient except for the occasional trips to the nearby town where Foster trades in his medication for supplies. There is a deep empathy between father and daughter despite minimal dialogue, gestures and looks say it all. A compassionate and very moving story about people living on the edges of society.
