A story of morality, blame and redemption set against the medieval beauty of Bruges A young hitman (Farrell) botches his first job and is forced to hide out with an older gangster (Gleeson). Their reactions to the city are mixed, on one hand Gleeson is enchanted by its peace and beauty while Farrell moans about it being a “shithole” The film is the debut of the theatrical writer & director McDonagh and is a dark comic thriller with surreal edges and surprising twists and turns.
